The Brookfield Place shopping center is now home to a 73,000-square-foot venue space, one of the largest to debut in Battery Park City, Manhattan. Located within 225 Liberty Street in the Financial District, the space is operated by Convene, a New York City-based hospitality company that designs and services a network of venues across the country.

The venue spans approximately one quarter of the retail area formerly occupied by Saks Fifth Avenue.

“Convene’s opening at Brookfield Place marks a significant enhancement to Brookfield Place’s unique mix of experiential and cultural amenities,” said Ben Brown, head of New York for Brookfield Properties. “The addition of Convene’s event and flex meeting space responds to the need for large-format event spaces in Downtown Manhattan.”

Convene’s flagship location within Brookfield Place is the company’s 30th location in the United States. This operation is designed as a flexible layout and includes two large hubs offering capacity up to 500 people, several smaller rooms for more intimate engagements, a coffee shop, and a café. Convene will also offer in-house catering to future clients.

  2. Well, I guess standing on the sidewalk staring at your phone must bring you greater joy?
