Construction on VU, aka 368 Third Avenue, continues to move forward as the new condominium development gets ready to launch sales in the coming months. It is the tallest new residential building in the vicinity at 410-feet-tall and features a 36-story reinforced concrete structure. VU is located in the Manhattan neighborhood of Kips Bay and provides unobstructed views of Midtown, Lower Manhattan, and the East River. The interiors and amenities are designed by Paris Forino and SLCE is the architect. Developed by Minrav Development, the 145,000-square-foot superstructure will yield 100 apartments which will include studios to three-bedrooms. YIMBY recently got to check out the building.
Photos from the 33rd floor show 360-degree views of the entire island. To the west is the skyline of NoMad and Hudson Yards, while to the north is the Empire State Building, One Vanderbilt, and the Chrysler Building. One World Trade Center is clearly seen with the Financial District to the south, and the emerging skyline of Downtown Brooklyn and Jersey City flank both ends of the southern tip of Manhattan. To the east, VU provides panoramic views up and down the river.
The curtain wall is continuing to rise and workers were spotted along the edges of the floor plates painting the ceiling perimeters with a black paint. This goes on before the actual window panels are hoisted and assembled in place.
VU will have 3,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and will also feature a full floor of carefully curated amenities including a fitness center, lounge, media room, roof terrace and more. The closest subway is the local 6 train at the 28th Street station two streets to the west along Park Avenue South.
Sales will officially launch in the coming months, with select previews currently taking place. Prices start at $829,000 for studios. Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing is exclusively handling sales and marketing. Minrav Development estimates VU will be completed in 2021.

Well looks very average, so what discount are they going to offer in this market. Ten years no maintenance or 25% off.
It seems that these photos were taken quite a while ago. One Vanderbilt, Central Park Tower, and 111 West 57th Street, don’t look like they are currently in their construction. But that doesn’t matter.
Nice views though! I envy you, Michael Young! ?
Don’t forget to note that this project is being built by CM & Associates
Beautiful photographs, but it’s depressing that not one of the high rise buildings constructed in Manhattan since the Empire State Building even comes close to equaling it. Why not?
Because they are not Art Deco, which I love.
Agreed. Met & NY Life bldgs. are the class of that area
