Work is wrapping up on the Verizon Tech Executive Education Center and Graduate Hotel on Roosevelt Island. The topped-out, 18-story structure is designed by Snøhetta and includes an adjacent four-story annex. Graduate Hotels is the operator of the 224 hotel rooms. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is the master planner of the island campus, while Hudson Companies, Related Companies, and Brookfield are developing the entire Cornell Tech satellite location.
Recent photos show that the exterior hoist has been dismantled and the floor-to-ceiling glass has been installed where it once stood. Work on the outdoor terrace space near the roof parapet also appears to be done, with the glass railings all in place. This open-air deck will provide occupants with wide vistas of the southern tip of the island and of the Manhattan skyline. The only section of the exterior currently awaiting completion is the ground floor, and interiors should also be finished sometime soon.

The project will feature event spaces, a rooftop bar, a restaurant, a cafe, and four 50- to 75-seat classrooms. The building is about a five-minute walk from the F train at the Roosevelt Island subway station, and an even shorter walk from the Roosevelt Island Tramway, which connects to the Upper East Side at the intersection of Second Avenue and East 60th Street. The campus is accessible by car via the Roosevelt Island Bridge that connects with the Motorgate Garage.
Work on the Verizon Executive Education Center And Graduate Hotel is slated to wrap up sometime this spring.
