All three 12-story properties are developed by Thorobird Companies and designed by GF55 Partners. 220 East 178th Street yields 43,291 square feet with 52 residential units and ground-floor community facility space. 225 East 179th Street comprises 33,602 square feet with 37 residential units, and 2195 Morris Avenue has 52,005 square feet with 49 residential units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are a mix of studios and one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for residents at 30 to 80 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $0 to $112,800.

At 40 percent of the AMI, there are five affordable studios with a $536 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $20,572 to $36,400; five one-bedrooms with a $682 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $25,852 to $40,960; seven two-bedrooms with a $828 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $31,578 to $49,120; and two three-bedrooms with a $949 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $36,480 to $56,400.
At 60 percent of the AMI, there are two affordable studios with a $856 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $31,543 to $54,600; five one-bedrooms with a $1,082 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $53,280 to $81,920; five two-bedrooms with a $1,309 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $48,069 to $73,680; and three three-bedrooms with a $1,505 monthly rent for $55,543 to $84,600.
At 80 percent of the AMI, there are eight affordable studios with a $1,176 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $42,515 to $72,800; 17 one-bedrooms with a $1,482 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $63,429 to $133,120; 18 two-bedrooms with a $1,790 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $64,560 to $98,240; and nine three-bedrooms with a $2,060 monthly rent for incomes ranging from $74,572 to $112,800.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than February 9, 2021.

Yes, I’m not sure the author understands the 8 units at 30% AMI are not actually 0, they are PBV units, where the tenant certifies their income every year, and then pays 30% of their income with the voucher paying the remaining rent.

My name is Sandra and I’m 54 years old and live in the south Bronx, I am also disabled and live on the third floor of a 5 story building, I have a daughter who takes care of me because it’s hard for me to do a lot of things especially walk up stairs, I also suffer from mental disability as well so I have a small westie who is my E.S.A. I wanted to inquire about these apartments because I can’t bear staying here anymore because of the rowdy neighbors above me, they party and drink EVERY weekend and They have no consideration for their neighbors… dealing with my mental issues it’s going to cause me to have a nervous breakdown, I complain to my management office many times and they do NOTHING, I’ve even called the cops to report the noise complaints and they too do NOTHING! Only way they show up is if there’s a shooting and even with THAT they take there time. My daughter also sufffers from migraines and it’s sad that she has her own bedroom and she has to stay in the small kitchen that fits ONE chair so she can study because the kids upstairs want to jump, run, scream, fight, and drop things on the floor. Then you have people coming in and out because people JUST let them in. One time some guy came from behind the stairs and startled me asking me to give him money to get high, I can’t run or walk quickly up the stairs so if he really wanted to he could’ve hurt me. I’m 54 years old… I need to live the rest of my life in peace, I want to be in a place that I can afford because right now I use my WHOLE disability check to pay my rent and if it wasn’t for my daughter being my home attendant and getting paid things would be VERY rough for us… I just pray that I have the chance to be approved for one of these beautiful apartments preferably a 3 if not 2 bedrooms, trust me I don’t play loud music, I’m a quiet tenant, I pay my rent ON TIME and I keep my apt CLEAN!!! If I can get an application I’d greatly appreciate it…. thank you!
