Another BS marketing about a delveopment promissing “affordable” rents at 130% of the AMI! Why do we put up with falsehoods like this? Just be honest, this is new market-rate housing, with rents that reflect this reality. That’s something that would be acceptable, not this blathering about “affordable housing”!

I agree its not affordable housing.Thats just another way to kick out low income people and gentrify our neighborhoods.Just say for wealthy rich high income people.lets face we can’t afford 1,800 or 2,100 its insane.I would need 3 jobs just for the rent i’m on ssi come on know that’s just another way for them to discriminate against the poor minority.Lets face the facts, they stoled that title affordable housing for their own demise period i’m getting a little annoyed everytime they put on google news affordable this affordable that.Thats not affordable, just turn them into condos sell those studios to the rich they will afford it.They going to stay vacant they going to collect dust and rust people like us can’t afford it period.I was waiting for housing in new york city for 8 years they never called me.renewed my housing application 4 times while living in new york had to move because the rent got so expensive couldn’t afford it imagine living on ssi its crazy.Know i live in pennsylvania been living here for 3 years could afford it for know. But rents are going up here also,i’m holding it together and keeping the faith.

I live near by this area for years I have a family that lives in that area the cost of the rents is outrageous it looks like they only want a certain kind of renters to live , the State, local government, and estate community is going to pay a high cost for the changes of the cost for people to live in my old neighborhood , it’s all greed , money ?? ? it’s crime shame , you will reap for these changes.

Who is this affordable to!?gentrification is a sophisticated formed of racism to chase minorites out of our neighborhoods.

  8. I took a look at these units last year when they first started renting. VERY SMALL apartments many of which have no window in the living / dining / kitchen main room.

Why are these homes being built in our poor neighborhoods and communities and the renting prices are outrageous how is this affordable housing new York state needs to stop this nonsense no low income person can afford these apartments are you developers and builders serious.

  10. I live in the East Flatbush area, and I drive down Lenox to go to work daily. That area is not so great for those numbers.

  11. I truly cannot wait to see a post for affordable housing that I actually can afford. And I COULD afford this. But not with that income requirement. Totally ridiculous. They’re going to have strangers being forced to be roommates ONCE AGAIN.

Wow what city worker can afford those prices. Starting pay between 35000 and 40000.

  13. Who can really afford that? I highly recommend that you post housing that people can afford and stop posting these ridiculous overly priced housing and passing them off as affordable. GET REAL!

This is not affordable. I don’t even recognize my neighborhood anymore. Homes being torn down to build high-rises, for people that might stay 5 years tops

  15. I was made to understand that the Mayor and the assembly men and women of my Borough Brooklyn have a way of coming on the tv talking about helping the underprivileged. That’s a lie from the pit of hell. I have been seeking to find a section 8 apartment for the longest time. Mind you I am working to support my family and for years the city council in my district is not looking into these developers coming into our neighborhoods throwing up these big high rise buildings and no help from Nycha or no one to represent us. Even when you try to talk to those developers they don’t even want to say good morning much less for you to ask them a question about an apartment. They look at you like you are inferior to them. At this point I am screaming for help. We poor working class citizens need to live in a decent and affordable home for ourselves and children too. We pay our taxes too. Why do minorities have to move out of our home state to live comfortably and spacious. We belong here too.

  16. What is there to say? Where are the elected officials, the churches. They want us out, we who kept the community going for years. I also call out the blacks who are selling to these developers. Shame on all of you.

  17. Thanks to Councilmember Inez Barron and Assemblyman Charles Barron in East New York we have purely affordable housing according to our AMI of this area of Brooklyn. Developers can’t come to the table talking that crap about the AMI that is inclusive of Westchester and Suffolk County. They are experienced negotiators for their community and radical thinkers. Truly for the community they serve.

  18. I would like to enroll in the lottery.
