A new 24-story commercial tower at 141 Willoughby Street in Downtown Brooklyn has officially topped out. From developer Savanna Real Estate, the new property comprises 400,000 square feet with a mix of Class A office space and retail on the lower floors.
Construction broke ground in 2020 and is on track to complete in the first quarter of 2023.
Designed by Fogarty Finger with SLCE, the massing of the structure incorporates a pair of large setbacks that create spacious outdoor terraces. When complete, the building is expected to achieve LEED certification for sustainable design, a WELL Health-Safety rating for ventilation and water quality, and a WiredScore for superior digital infrastructure and connectivity.
Additional members of the project team include Savanna’s construction affiliate SavCon, Gilbane, and award-winning structural design studio Thornton Tomasetti.

Seems like it would make a great base for a much taller building.
Savanna totally chickened out on this one, should have included the Resi portion of this building, would have done a lot to change the dynamic on that stretch. Great spot for resi given proximity to transit and would have helped make that stretch a bit more populated at night and weekends.
Too bad it wasn’t engineered in a way that would allow a residential addition sometime in the future.
