Permits have been filed for a proposed vertical enlargement of existing commercial building to include residential use on second through seventh floors at 2184 Clarendon Road in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located between East 23rd Street and Flatbush Avenue, the lot is near the Beverly Road subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Joey Araman under the J.S.S. of Clarendon LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 70-foot-tall development will yield 25,235 square feet, with 18,000 square feet designated for residential space, 6,235 square feet for commercial space, and 1,000 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 23 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 782 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 13 enclosed parking spaces.
Z Architecture is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed since the project requires an expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

The closest subway station IS the Beverly Road station, but it is a 12-minute walk away, not exactly “near” 2184 Clarendon Road. Glenn in Brooklyn, NY.
