Piedmont Office Realty Trust has revealed an extensive capital improvement program at 60 Broad Street, a 38-story mid-century office tower in Manhattan’s Financial District. Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects, a tenant at the building, the overhaul will create a new building entryway, a renovated lobby, modernized elevator cabs, and new amenity spaces. The property is bound by Beaver Street to the south, Broad Street to the east, and New Street to the west.
The new lobby will feature energy-efficient lighting, rounded columns, wood paneling along the outer edges, a curated selection of framed artwork and sculptures, and an abstract motif by artist Cody Hudson with black, white, and sky-blue elements.
“60 Broad Street is our home and the lobby is our front door, so we’re extremely invested in getting the experience right,” said Morris Adjmi, principal and founder of Morris Adjmi Architects. “For the reimagined space, we drew inspiration from the most compelling hotel lobbies, residential amenities, and even art galleries to create an environment that will serve the building community in new and exciting ways.”
Piedmont anticipates the new lobby will be completed by this summer.
