The affordable housing lottery has launched for 282 Hinsdale Street, an eight-story residential building in East New York, Brooklyn. Designed by Curtis + Ginsberg Architects and developed by New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the structure yields 71 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 27 units for residents at 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $37,920 to $91,500.

Building amenities include 24-hour front desk security, bike parking, community room, community event space, courtyard, laundry room, and complimentary wi-fi. Tenants are responsible for electricity including electric stove.

At 60 percent of the AMI, there are 13 studios with a monthly rent of $1,020 for incomes ranging from $37,920 to $67,800; eight one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of 1,276 for incomes ranging from $47,109 to $76,260; and six two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,530 for incomes ranging from $56,880 to $91,500.

Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than October 13, 2023.

  4. Is the weird wall reveal above the kitchen the result of an NYC specific building code, or is it just a design feature? I feel like I only this in kitchens in NYC.
