Construction is progressing on 108-112 North 6th Street, a two-story commercial building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Building Studio and developed by L3 Capital under the RS JZ Bedford-N 6TH, LLC, the structure will yield 15,440 square feet of divisible retail space and a rooftop terrace. McGowan Builders Inc. is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Wythe Avenue and Berry Street.
Photos from late August show the steel-framed superstructure topped out and treated with fireproofing. Façade installation has yet to begin.
Three low-rise structures were consolidated into one large assemblage for the new building. The third floors of 110 and 112 North 6th Streets were eliminated as per plans filed for the project. The below Google Street View image shows the three separate structures prior to their demolition.
The new building will feature 75 feet of ground-floor retail frontage along North 6th Street and ceiling heights of 15 feet on the 7,245-square-foot first floor and 13 feet on the 6,865-square-foot second floor. The façade will be composed of earth-toned brick surrounding floor-to-ceiling industrial-style windows on the northern elevation. Dark metal canopies hang above the ground-floor windows and are shown topped with uniform signage.
The nearest subway from the property is the L train at the Bedford Avenue station. Also nearby is the North Williamsburg ferry terminal, a short walk to the northwest along the waterfront esplanade at the end of North 6th Street.
108-112 North 6th Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for February 2024, as noted on site.
