Yesterday the Battery Park City Authority relaunched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Wagner Park Pavilion, a waterfront site in Battery Park with sweeping views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Harbor. The RFP relaunch for the operation of a food and beverage establishment includes new interior renderings of the space.

Wagner Park is being rebuilt as part of the South Battery Park City Resiliency Project, elevated atop a buried
flood barrier system for resiliency against more frequent and severe storms. The new pavilion building will house food and beverage operations, as well as serve as a neighborhood amenity, with community, arts, cultural, and recreational programming.

The structure will be newly constructed with cast-in-place reinforced architectural concrete, divided into north and south wings and will have a public rooftop viewing area, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an adjacent terrace. Space for the food and beverage concept will be located in the south wing, with a total of 5,000 square feet for kitchen and dining. The restaurant space’s two floors include the main floor at the elevated park level with approximately 2,790 square feet, and the ground floor at street level is approximately 2,510 square feet. An elevator and a dumbwaiter will connect the two floors.

Wagner Park is bounded by 1st Place to the north, Battery Place to the east, and the Hudson River to the south and west. The Pavilion will located inside Wagner Park, next to Museum of Jewish Heritage–A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, The Skyscraper Museum, Pier A, The Battery, and Castle Clinton National Monument. The site is near subway service for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, J, and Z trains. Also within walking distance is the Oculus and a ferry hub.

The rebuilding of Wagner Park is estimated to be completed in early summer 2025.
