Permits have been filed to expand a three-story structure into a six-story residential building at 972 Myrtle Avenue in Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Throop Avenue, the lot is near the Flushing Avenue subway station, served by the J and M trains. Yehuda Kohn of City Framers Inc. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 75-foot-tall development will yield 8,516 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,064 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar, penthouse, and a 35-foot-long rear yard.
Gladmore Mwandiambira of Baobab Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
