The Fulton Center is showing significant progress, with exterior glass installation now wrapping up. The transit hub will connect eleven different subway lines, making it the largest station in Lower Manhattan. The oculus reflects brilliantly, and though the transit center isn’t particularly prominent, it will still be a local landmark.
Kaufman’s 99 Washington remains facade-less; in the end, it might actually be more attractive now than when complete. Hopefully the delay is to blame on hesitation regarding the blue zebra-stripe cladding—with the tower’s slender profile, perhaps switching the exterior to a ‘giraffe print’ is in order. In the meantime, the bottom floor of 99 Washington has been covered in bizarre bovine-inspired motifs, because nothing says Lower Manhattan like cows at pasture.
