Community Preservation Partners and L+M Development Partners have revealed a $123 million overhaul of a senior community development know as Norman Towers. Located in East Orange at 500 North Walnut Street, the building contains 406 units of affordable housing and was originally completed in 1980.
Leasing has launched for Walker House’s rental properties at 540 Broad Street in downtown Newark, New Jersey. Developed in collaboration by L+M Development Partners, Prudential Financial, and Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, the landmarked 1929 Art Deco building was renovated to create 211 apartments and a full suite of residential amenities. The 20-story structure’s conversion was overseen by Inglese Architecture & Engineering and CetraRuddy, and will include a fitness center and yoga studio, a library lounge, a private catering kitchen and dining room, a game room, storage areas, and a crowning rooftop terrace with outdoor cooking areas.
Construction is currently underway to redevelop the dilapidated four-story industrial property at 118-126 Green Street, on the corner of New Jersey Railroad Avenue in Newark’s Ironbound district, into a five-story structure with 64 residential units. The project, dubbed Textile Lofts, will also feature ground-floor commercial-retail space and a laundromat, Jersey Digs reported. The apartments will range from one- to two-bedrooms. Roseland, N.J.-based J&L Companies and an anonymous LLC are the developers. Bergen County, N.J.-based Inglese Architecture + Engineering is the architect. A construction timeline has not been revealed.
