New photos showcase the amenity spaces within Jean Nouvel‘s 53W53, a 1,050-foot residential supertall at 53 West 53rd Street in Midtown. The skyscraper is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and overlooks The Museum of Modern Art.

Spanning the entire 12th floor, the amenity spaces are minimally adorned and incorporate a mix of live greenery, warm earth tones, and simple elements that aim to create a respite from Midtown. Amenities include a fitness center with a separate yoga studio, 65-foot-long lap pool partially framed by an enormous living wall, a squash court, multiple saunas and treatment rooms, and a golf simulator. Special programming will be curated by The Wright Fit wellness experts.

The building’s diagrid structural system affords each of the amenity spaces, especially the fitness center, a unique frame to the vistas beyond. Additional amenities include a wine room, a private library, and round-the-clock concierge service.

Nouvel, a Pritzker Prize laureate, worked with architects of record SLCE Architects and Adamson Associates to complete the building. The Office of Thierry Despont oversaw interior design. The building was developed in collaboration by Singapore’s Pontiac Land and Hines.

The residential component features 145 condominiums that range from one to four-bedroom residences and 17 studio and one-bedroom suites, including full-floor homes and duplex penthouses with private elevators. Sales are currently underway with the last premium residences listed at $64.7 million.

    Amazing!
And just nearby, near skeletons sleep on the subway floors.

Maybe some of the tax dollars that’s generated from the units in the building can help fund programs to get these people better accommodations.

  2. The first time I stood across the street from this beautiful building late at night, a cloudy mist had enveloped the uppermost floors. Pure Gotham.

  3. This undoubtedly is one of the most beautifully crafted and appointed buildings built in recent years – sexy, spacious apartments. It’s curious that one would need to still need to spend more than 8 million to get a closet for a vacuum cleaner, but, that’s the way it is in NY!

  4. A great addition to one of the most unique yet most cool-looking skyscrapers in New York.

  5. I’m interested in applying for a 1 or 2b 325 E. 25.
