1415 Ogden Avenue Wraps Up Construction in Highbridge, The Bronx

Construction is wrapping up on Ogden Theatre Apartments, an affordable housing development at 1415 Ogden Avenue in Highbridge, The Bronx. Designed by Aufgang Architects and developed in a joint partnership between Unique People Services and NCV Capital Partners, along with with several governmental bodies including HUD, NYC’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene (DOHMH), the $66 million project yields 85 units. The property is located by the corner of Ogden Avenue and West 171st Street and was once the site of a former movie theater, bowling alley, and church.

YIMBY checked in on five new residential projects coming to The Bronx neighborhoods of Highbridge and Concourse. Located along Jerome and River Avenues, the projects will create more than 900 new homes on properties formerly occupied by auto shops and parking lots. The properties are all within walking distance of the 4 train between the 167th and 170th Street subway stations.

River Commons Affordable Housing Development Breaks Ground At 1225 Gerard Avenue In Concourse, The Bronx

Construction has broken ground on River Commons, a 17-story mixed-use affordable housing development on the campus of NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, Morrisania at 1225 Gerard Avenue in Concourse, The Bronx. Designed by Bernheimer Architecture and developed by Type A Projects, BronxWorks, and L+M Development Partners, the $255 million structure will yield 328 affordable and supportive apartments. The project will also include a new healthcare facility, community space, and public open space. The property is located between East 167th and 168th Streets.

Fischer Senior Apartments, a nine-story residential building, has opened at 97 West 169th Street in Highbridge, The Bronx. Designed by Shakespeare Gordon Vlado Architects and developed by West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing (WSFSSH), the structure yields 105 units. Twenty-five apartments are dedicated to affordable housing and 59 are reserved for formerly homeless adults. The property is located between Nelson and Shakespeare Avenues.
