Kew Gardens-based Empire Home Sales has filed applications for a three-story, six-unit residential building at 277 Milford Street, in the heart of East New York. The project will measure 6,810 square feet and its residential units should average 860 square feet apiece, indicative of family-sized configurations. It’s unclear if the apartments will be rentals or condominiums. Paul Lombardi’s Brooklyn-based Design Studio Associates is the architect of record. The 40-foot-wide, 4,000-square-foot lot is vacant.

Seven-Story Medical Office Building Grows At 101 Pennsylvania Avenue, East New York

When plans were filed to build a medical office building on the site of a late 19th century bank in East New York, neighbors rallied to try and save the neglected Renaissance Revival bank. But they were too late. The building already had demolition plans on file, which meant that the city could not give it landmark protections. Single-Story, 6,000-Square-Foot Manufacturing Building Planned At 504 Liberty Avenue, East New York

A Jamaica-based property owner has filed applications for a single-story, 6,000-square-foot manufacturing building at 504 Liberty Avenue, located on the corner of Van Siclen Avenue in East New York. The project will house manufacturing, office, and storage space. Jose A. Velasquez’s architectural firm, based in South Ozone Park, is the applicant of record. The 60-foot-wide, 6,000-square-foot plot is vacant. The site is located within the East New York rezoning area approved earlier this year, allowing up to 12,000 square feet of manufacturing space or 18,000 square feet of residential space to be built as-of-right on the site.

A Brooklyn-based property owner has filed applications for a three-story, seven-unit residential building at 32 Fountain Avenue, located on the northern end of East New York. The project will measure 6,840 square feet and its residential units should average 956 square feet apiece, indicative of apartments with family-sized configurations. Benjamin A. Leonardi’s Howard Beach-based Miele Associates is the architect of record. The 5,000-square-foot property is vacant. The Norwood Avenue stop on the J train is three blocks away.

Two Three-Story, Two-Family Affordable Buildings Coming To 856 Blake Avenue, East New York

The New York City Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) has filed applications for two three-story, two-unit residential buildings at 856-858 Blake Avenue, in the heart of East New York. The buildings will measure 2,573 square feet each and, across both, the residential units should average a family-sized 1,184 square feet apiece. All of the units will be sold at below-market rates. Brooklyn-based DeLaCour, Ferrara & Church Architects is the architect of record. The 4,690-square-foot plot is vacant. The project is associated with the city’s New Infill Homeownership Opportunity Program. The Van Siclen Avenue stop on the 3 train is four blocks away.
