Preliminary renderings from Hill West Architects reveal a forthcoming seven-story rental building in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Located at 160 Clarkson Avenue, the structure will comprise 111,848 square feet and will replace several low-rise residential buildings.
The affordable housing lottery is open for 1634 Church Avenue, an eight-story mixed-use development in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by J. Frankl Associates and developed by The Jay Group, the 60,499-square-foot building will yield 48 units. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 15 units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $68,572 to $159,640.
Today’s housing lottery round-up features two buildings with affordable units on Housing Connect with deadlines closing within the next seven days. Unfortunately, an update to the Housing Connect website this week has apparently left the system rather glitchy, as it now lists incorrect numbers of units remaining, and the photos and renderings have similarly become defunct, all in the midst of New York City’s worst housing crisis since the 1930s.
This week, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) released a call for developers to build affordable housing and a community facility space in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The city-owned vacant site at 2286 Church Avenue was formerly occupied by Public School 90. Preliminary plans for the 29,000-square-foot property call for approximately 100 affordable housing units and a community center with youth educational and vocational programming.
The housing lottery closes in four days for The Cove, an 18-story residential development at 43-12 Hunter Street in Long Island City, Queens. Developed by Rockrose Development and designed by SLCE Architects with interiors by Slade Architecture, the building has 37 apartments available on NYC Housing Connect at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging from $68,229 to $159,640.
