Gansevoort Peninsula Park Nears Completion on the West Village Waterfront, Manhattan

Work is nearing completion on Gansevoort Peninsula Park, a new 5.5-acre public recreational green space along the Hudson River waterfront off the West Village. Designed by James Corner Field Operations and commissioned by the Hudson River Park Trust, the park will contain a full-size soccer field surrounded by lush landscaping and shrubbery, numerous pathways, stepped seating, a children’s playground, kayak slips, a salt marsh, a dog run, viewing platforms, and Manhattan’s first public sandy beach. The site is located next to Pier 53, directly across from the Whitney Museum of American Art along Hudson River Park.

Derelict Townhomes Ready for Repair Work at 18-20 Christopher Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Repair work is set to begin on 18-20 Christopher Street, a pair of derelict two-story homes in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Owned by Nazarian Property Group, the structures have been issued an order to vacate from the Department of Buildings and currently stand in a state of significant disrepair. The townhomes at 18-20 Christopher Street were constructed in 1827 and are located between Gay Street to the east and Waverly Place to the west.

KPF’s 64 University Place Progresses in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Construction is progressing on 64 University Place, an 11-story residential building in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Bsafal, the 125-foot-tall structure will span 55,000 square feet and yield 28 condominium units with sales and marketing led by Fredrik Eklund and John Gomes of the The Eklund ǀ Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman Real Estate, as well as a community facility and ground-floor retail space. SPACE Copenhagen is the interior designer, Deborah Nevins is the landscape designer, and CNY Group is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 10th and East 11th Streets.

Work On Hold at 14 Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Foundation work is temporarily on hold at 14 Fifth Avenue, the site of a 19-story residential building in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Hill West Architects and developed by Madison Realty Capital, which purchased the 5,255-square-foot plot for $27.5 million in 2015, the 241-foot-tall structure will yield 20 condominiums. CM & Associates is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 8th and East 9th Streets, just north of Washington Square Park.

The Collection Nears Completion at 401 West Street in Manhattan’s West Village

Work is nearing completion on The Collection, an eight-story residential building at 401 West Street on the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Thomas Juul Hansen and Hill West Architects and developed by Wainbridge Capital, the structure will yield ten units. Vector Building Corporation is the general contractor for the project, which is located between West 10th and Charles Streets, across from Hudson River Park and the Christopher Street Pier.
