Revealed: 15-Story, 338-Key Dual-Brand Hotel Under Construction At 148-18 Archer Avenue, Jamaica

A 15-story, 338-key hotel is quietly rising above street level at 148-18 Archer Avenue, in downtown Jamaica, and a rendering of the project has been spotted on the construction fence. The latest building permits indicate the project will eventually encompass 202,314 square feet and rise 170 feet above street level to its roof. It will be home to a 224-key Courtyard Inn on the second through 10th floors and a 114-key Fairfield Inn and Suites on the 11th through 15th floors. Guest amenities will be located on the ground and cellar levels. An anonymous Flushing-based LLC is the developer and Raymond Chan’s Flushing-based firm is behind the architecture. Completion is slated for early 2019.

A schematic depiction of the hotel planned at 149-03 Archer Avenue, located on the corner of 149th Street in downtown Jamaica, has been posted on the construction fence. Since YIMBY initially reported on applications for the project, it has been scaled down from 18 to eight stories and 283 to 128 rooms. The building permits indicate it will encompass 139,192 square feet and rise 91 feet above street level, not including the bulkhead.

Mixed-Use Tower With Residential Units And Retail Planned At 147-07 94th Avenue, Jamaica

Phoenix Realty Group and Artimus Construction have acquired a 52-year ground lease for the development site at 147-07 94th Avenue in downtown Jamaica. The property was valued at roughly $34 million, and the development teams plan to build a mixed-use project with residential units and commercial-retail space. The residential units will be a mix of market-rate and affordable apartments.
