24-Story Tower Coming to 147-07 94th Avenue, Jamaica, Queens

Permits have been filed for a 24-story mixed-use building at 147-07 94^th Avenue, in Jamaica, Queens. YIMBY last reported on the site in October 2016, when Phoenix Realty Group and Artimus Construction purchased it for $34 million. The site is one block away from the Jamaica LIRR Train Station, and the Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue-JFK Subway Station, serviced by the E, J, and Z trains. Sutphin Boulevard Subway Station is six blocks further, serviced by the F train. Artimus Construction will be developing.

The site is seven blocks away from the Parson Boulevard Subway Station, serviced by the E and F trains. Six blocks further is the Jamaica Center Subway Station, the final stop for the E, J and Z trains. Ziyana Properties will be responsible for the development.

The site is three blocks away from the Parsons Boulevard Subway Station, serviced by the E and F trains. The Jamaica Center / Parsons / Archer Subway Station is also nine blocks away, serviced by the E, J, and Z trains. New York DK is listed as responsible for the development.

TWA Hotel At JFK Airport’s Famed Eero Saarinen Terminal Tops Out

Yesterday, construction topped-out on the TWA Hotel, which flanks the famous TWA Flight Center designed by Eero Saarinen at JFK Airport. This news comes almost exactly a year after the groundbreaking ceremony, held with Governor Andrew Cuomo on December 15^th, 2016. The hotel creates 50,000 square feet of meeting and event space, as well as eight restaurants and six bars. 10,000 square feet of observation space will be made available to the public.

Neighboring the historic Georgian-style King Manor Museum, and the intimidating Supreme Court of Queens County, a new 9-story mixed-use building might just bring more of the 21^st Century to Downtown Jamaica, Queens. An anonymous LLC has filed permits for 148-18 Hillside Avenue, located on a busy thoroughfare with dozens of restaurants and shops. Despite being quite distant from Manhattan, the two locations are well connected. It is just three blocks away from the Parsons Boulevard subway station, serviced by the E and F trains.

Permits have been filed for a new four-story building at 104-14 Liverpool Street, in Jamaica, Queens. The building is being developed by the American Bengali Hindu Foundation, and will be their new house of worship. The project will be a big improvement from their current situation, which is located within an open-air tent.

Renderings Revealed for Three-Building Project at 90-02 168th Street, Jamaica, Queens

The Greater Jamaica Development Corporation (GJDC) has revealed a major joint venture between BRP Companies and Wharton Properties to purchase and develop a site located at 90-02 168th Street, in Jamaica, Queens. An open-air parking lot will be replaced with a new building totaling over 500,000 square feet, which will also include over 300 residential units, as well as 70,000 square feet of retail space. Perkins Eastman is behind the design.

Initial building applications were filed back in the spring for 148-31 90th Avenue, in Jamaica, Queens, and now, slightly revised permits have been pulled with the DOB, this time using the address 148-29 90th Avenue. The total construction area will measure just over 100,000 square feet, and within that, there will be 69,789 square feet of residential space, divided amongst 90 units. There will also be a 45-car parking garage in the cellar, which will also include room for 45 bicycles. Raymond Chan Architects is the architect of record, while George Xu’s 90 Ave Realty LLC is listed as the developer. Demolition permits for the existing structure have already been filed, and construction should soon begin.

Permits Filed for Hotel at 97-11 Sutphin Boulevard, Jamaica, Queens

Chelsea isn’t the only neighborhood seeing fresh permits for hotels this morning, and new building applications have also been filed for a 114-room project at 97-11 Sutphin Boulevard, in Jamaica, Queens. Cheng Yang-Lee of Atelier CS is the architect of record, and the nine-story structure will have 36,375 square feet of commercial space, for rooms averaging almost 320 square feet apiece. Charanjit Singh of AIH Group, LLC is listed as the developer, and demolition permits for an existing one-story structure were filed back in March.
