At number 14 on our year-end countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is 50 West 66th Street, a 775-foot-tall residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Snøhetta and developed by Extell and Tennor Holding, the 69-story structure will yield 127 condominium units. SLCE Architects is the executive architect for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West with frontage on both West 65th and West 66th Streets.

City Opens RFP Process To Redevelop 150–160 West 100th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of 150–160 West 100th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The plan involves the construction of a new mixed-income housing structure on the site of a city-owned low-rise building that houses the Bloomingdale branch of the New York Public Library (NYPL) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) Riverside Health Center. The new development would include both market-rate and permanently affordable units and a new Bloomingdale library branch. Permanent off-site facilities for DOHMH services such as the Health Academy and Riverside Sexual Health Clinic would also be provisioned. The project site is located between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.

LPC To Review Demolition Permit for 165 West 86th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission is set to review a proposal for the demolition of West-Park Presbyterian Church at 165 West 86th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Submitted by Alchemy Properties and the West Park Administrative Commission, the application cites unsound structural conditions in the Romanesque Revival building as well as the church administration’s financial hardship under Administrative Code § 25-309(2). The property is located between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.

YIMBY has an exclusive look at the first new rendering for 200 West 88th Street, an 18-story residential currently rising on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and developed by Nortco Development, the 215-foot-tall structure will span 114,000 square feet and yield 37 condominium units.
