LPC To Review Proposal For 106 West 81st Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

A proposal has been submitted to the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) for a rear extension and rooftop addition at 106 West 81st Street, a three story, four-unit residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Proposed work includes a one-story vertical addition set back from the primary façade, creating a new fourth floor and roof terrace. The project team aims to maintain the building’s historic elements while converting it from a multi-family into a single-family residence. The property is located between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.

New Renderings Reveal RAMSA’s 200 West 88th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

New renderings have been revealed for 200 West 88th Street, an 18-story residential tower currently under construction on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and developed by Nortco Development, the 215-foot-tall structure will span 114,000 square feet and yield 36 condominium units in three- to five-bedroom layouts. The building will also contain ground-floor retail space and enclosed parking spaces on the second level. The property is alternately addressed as 568-574 Amsterdam Avenue and located at the corner of West 88th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.

Demolition Unfolds for 1,200-Foot Supertall at 77 West 66th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

At number three on our year-end countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is 77 West 66th Street, a proposed 1,200-foot residential supertall skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Developed by Extell, the 90-story structure would stand as the tallest building in the neighborhood by a significant margin. The site is bounded by West 67th Street to the north, West 66th Street to the south, and Columbus Avenue to the west.

At number 14 on our year-end countdown of the tallest construction projects in New York is 50 West 66th Street, a 775-foot-tall residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Snøhetta and developed by Extell and Tennor Holding, the 69-story structure will yield 127 condominium units. SLCE Architects is the executive architect for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West with frontage on both West 65th and West 66th Streets.

City Opens RFP Process To Redevelop 150–160 West 100th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

The New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) has issued a request for proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of 150–160 West 100th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The plan involves the construction of a new mixed-income housing structure on the site of a city-owned low-rise building that houses the Bloomingdale branch of the New York Public Library (NYPL) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s (DOHMH) Riverside Health Center. The new development would include both market-rate and permanently affordable units and a new Bloomingdale library branch. Permanent off-site facilities for DOHMH services such as the Health Academy and Riverside Sexual Health Clinic would also be provisioned. The project site is located between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.
