Activity Underway on FXCollaborative’s Covenant House at 460 West 41st Street in Midtown West

Construction activity is underway at 460 West 41st Street, a 164-foot-tall mixed-use building in Midtown West. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Covenant House, the 80,290-square-foot edifice will contain 53,053 square feet dedicated to community facility space and 60 units averaging approximately 884 square feet. This is the first supportive housing development by Covenant House in 48 years and includes help from for-profit entities Gotham Organization and Denham Wolf Real Estate Services.

Trinity Church, MBB Architects Propose to Replace the Church’s Historic Stained Glass at 75 Broadway in Financial District

The Landmarks Preservation Commission will soon review proposals from Trinity Church and MBB Architects to replace the multi-story stained glass window above the entrance of the historic Episcopal Church at 75 Broadway in the Financial District.

New York City’s Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) will soon review proposals to renovate and expand a row of historic structures in Manhattan’s Gansevoort Market Historic District, otherwise known as the Meatpacking District. The properties are located at 44-54 Ninth Avenue and 351-355 West 14th Street at the corner of 14th Street and Ninth Avenue.

Construction Pauses on Peter Poon Architects’ 58 West 39th Street, in Midtown

Work appears to be stalled on H Hotel W39, a 447-foot-tall project from Peter F. Poon Architects at 58 West 39th Street in Midtown. Developed by Wei Hong Hu of H Hotel LLC, the 29-story building is located between Fifth and Sixth Avenue just south of Bryant Park.

Work Appears to Stall for Possible KPF-Designed Residential Tower at 316 Fifth Avenue, in Koreatown

Work has yet to begin on 316 Fifth Avenue, a 539-foot-tall skyscraper from Kohn Pedersen Fox in Koreatown. Developed by Cottonwood Management, permits for the 39-story building were filed in July 2017 and called for 27 condominiums and 6,809 square feet of retail space across the first two floors. The Midtown development, totaling 52,340 square feet of newly created space, will be located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 32nd Street.

Located at 299 East 161st Street, less than a mile away from Yankee Stadium, the property will top out at 124 feet with about 143,600 buildable square feet. Components include a mix of small residential apartments and ground-floor retail.
