34-Story, 244-Unit Residential Building Filed At 639 West 59th Street, Riverside Center

Extell Development and Carlyle Group have filed applications for another Riverside Center building, this time at 639 West 59th Street, in Lincoln Square. The building will stand 34 stories or 391 feet in height, and will have 244 residential units. Retail space will span 1,845 square feet on the ground floor within the larger 330,152 square-foot building, and amenity space will be located on the ground floor and cellar. Goldstein Hill & West Architects is the architect of record.

Interior Renderings Revealed Of 41-Story Mixed-Use Tower At 1 West End Avenue, Lincoln Square

In December, YIMBY revealed renderings of Silverstein’s and El-Ad Properties’ 41-story, 365-unit mixed-use building planned for 1 West End Avenue, in Lincoln Square, and now Curbed has renderings of the building’s interior, which is being designed by Jeffrey Beers. Foundation work is currently underway at the site, and completion is slated for 2017. The Pelli Clarke Pelli-designed building will feature an affordable residential portion in its eight-story stone-clad base, and retail space is planned on the ground floor.

Vision: Arquitectonica’s Design for Building 1, at Extell’s Riverside Center

While both 1 and 21 West End Avenue are already under construction, the Riverside South master plan’s “Building 1,” on the corner of West 61st Street and Riverside Boulevard, does not yet have an announced design. YIMBY has now obtained images showing Arquitectonica’s submitted plans, which show two different versions, one of which features a dramatic sloped cantilever outwards towards the West Side Highway.
