The Bromley Companies have tapped Perkins Eastman Architects for a three-story, vertical addition to an existing 19th century building in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood. Located at 122 Fifth Avenue between 17th and 18th Streets, the structure was originally completed in 1899 by architect Robert Maynicke and real estate developer Henry Corn.
Another apartment building is coming to Williamsburg. The new seven-story residential project at 106 North 1st will have commercial space on the ground floor. The neighborhood has seen an influx of condos in the past few years, and an office development is currently in the works directly across the street, at 107 North 1st Street.
Designed by Z Architecture, 253 East 62nd Street has risen at the northern corner of East 62nd Street and Second Avenue, on the Upper East Side‘s Lenox Hill neighborhood. The building stands ten stories tall, with a dark red and brown brick facade, and large corner windows on each floor.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story hotel at 104-16 Tuckerton Street in Jamaica, Queens. Located on the corner of Tuckerton Street and main thoroughfare Liberty Avenue, the development is three blocks away from the Jamaica Center – Parsons/Archer subway station, serviced by the E, J and Z trains. Amritpal Sandhu’s Liberty Tuck NY LLC is listed as the developer.
With the number of supertalls on the Manhattan skyline doubling within the past year, it is easy to forget about impending proposals not yet out of the ground. But now, the second supertall to result from the Midtown East rezoning is moving forward, with JPMorgan Chase filing a text amendment with City Planning for a 1,400-foot tower on the site of 270 Park Avenue. Designed by Foster + Partners Architects, the plans also come with the first renderings of the 2.4 million square foot supertall, and massing diagrams that offer a look at what’s in store for New York City’s most central business district.
