The Bronx boom continues apace, and today, new applications are up for a residential development at 174 Marine Street, in the borough’s City Island neighborhood, a fair ways away from any public transit.
The official Census guesswork for 2017 has now been released, showing a gain of 7,272 individuals across the Five Boroughs, and a drop of over 2,000 people in Brooklyn. While the actual Census in 2010 was decried as leaving hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers missing from the count, it seems that whoever was behind the calculations for 2017 may have been even more incompetent, with changes to the borough-by-borough tallies painting a picture that makes no sense whatsoever.
A new 17-story building is planned to rise at 260 South Harrison Street, in the East Orange neighborhood of New Jersey, and today YIMBY has the exclusive reveal for the project. The site is seven blocks away from the Brick Church train station, serviced by the New Jersey Transit. 256-260 Urban Renewal LLC is the developer.
Bedford-Stuyvesant continues to see an influx of new development filling in its urban gaps, and adding new residential to the area. One such project is 165 Malcolm X Boulevard. The six-story residential building will rise just eight blocks away from the Gates Avenue subway station, serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. An anonymous LLC is responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a four-story mixed-use building at 1466 54th Street in Borough Park, Brooklyn. The site is four blocks away from the 55th Street subway station, serviced by the D trains. Cityscape Build is behind the applications.
