Construction is nearing completion on 39-26 30th Street, an 11-story mixed-use building in Dutch Kills, Queens. The structure will serve as the new home for the Brazilian Missionary Church, which already occupied the site, and will yield an unspecified number of affordable housing units. 39-26 Property LLC is listed as the owner and JLS Group Construction LLC is the general contractor for the property, which is located between 39th and 40th Avenues. An architect for the project was not publicly disclosed.
Substantial progress has occurred since our last update in December, when the reinforced concrete superstructure had recently topped out and façade installation was just getting underway. Recent photographs show the exterior fully clad in its envelope of gray metal paneling and large square windows, with the exception of the ground floor, which remains obscured behind the sidewalk shed. The core of the building is situated on the northern edge of the parcel and extends beyond the flat parapet, where a rooftop deck will likely be found. YIMBY expects façade work to conclude in the coming months.

The below rendering from the construction board depicts an outdated design for the building, which was formerly planned to incorporate a checkerboard pattern of wooden screens and darker gray paneling. Otherwise, the structure appears to retain its overall massing. There is an entrance to a parking garage positioned in the center of the main elevation, while the front doors are situated around the eastern corner of the structure.

39-26 30th Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for the winter of 2025, as noted on site.

Seeing how the entire structure appears to be done with windows already installed, the completion date of winter of 2025 seems to be inaccurate. Maybe winter of 2024?
Too bad they ditched the multi colored original design.
