New 22-Story Commercial Building Coming to 124 East 14th Street in Manhattan

Permits have been filed for a new 22-story commercial building at 124 East 14th Street, in Manhattan’s East Village. The site is the former retail space of the P.C. Richard & Son appliance shop, which closed their two-story, 20,000-square-foot location last winter. Since 2015, the city’s Economic Development Corp. has been soliciting proposals to redevelop the prime city-owned site, particularly those that include new office space for up and coming business tenants in creative and tech industries in the neighborhood.

Work Nears Completion for 110 University Place in Greenwich Village

William Macklowe’s 23-story mixed-use project in Greenwich Village is nearing completion. 110 University Place, aka 21 East 12th Street, is nearly finished, with construction with work on the lower two-story podium still underway. The project is a 52-unit tower designed by SLCE Architects. CNY Group is in charge of the construction, and 110 University Place contains just under 108,000 square feet of space.

272 West 10th Street’s Expansion in West Village to be Reviewed by LPC

Located in the West Village, and bound by West 10th Street, Washington Street, and Greenwich Street, a new proposed expansion for the Village Community School is currently being reviewed by the Landmarks Preservation Commission. Approval would potentially bring a four-story addition, designed by Marvel Architects, to the eastern side of the property, at the corner of West 10th Street and Greenwich Street. The corner is currently the site of the school playground, originally built in 1945. The school and project site are located among two historic districts in Greenwich Village, sitting on the southwest corner of the established areas.

Boutique Office Building Will Rise at 799 Broadway in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

At the intersection of Broadway and East 11th Street andon the edge of Greenwich Village, a new boutique office will soon rise at 799 Broadway thanks to a $70 million purchase by Columbia Property Trust, according to Crain’s. Columbia received a nearly 50% stake in the sale, and will join co-owner Normandy Real Estate Partners. The current structure today will eventually be demolished to make way for the new glass building that will span around 180,000 square feet, and stand 12 stories tall.
