Tower Crane Comes Down From One Manhattan Square As Exterior Work Nears Completion

Construction on the Lower East Side’s first legitimate skyscraper continues apace. When YIMBY last looked at 252 South Street, i.e. One Manhattan Square, the superstructure had reached its 80th floor, with topping-out officially occurring last September. Now, only a dozen floors of cladding remain before its exterior is complete. Extell Development is responsible for development, with Lendlease responsible for construction.

Renderings Revealed for 1548 Bedford Avenue, ODA-Designed Hotel in Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Permits were filed back in July of 2016 for a new hotel at 1548 Bedford Avenue, in Crown Height, Brooklyn. Though construction has not yet started, new renderings by ODA have revealed a daring, low-slung arched building adorned with a dark concrete façade. The hotel is located just two blocks away from the Franklin Avenue subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains. The Botanic Garden subway station is one block further, serviced by the Shuttle trains.

New Renderings for 74-Story 80 Flatbush, in Downtown Brooklyn

New information has been revealed about 80 Flatbush, in Downtown Brooklyn, by Alloy Development. The release brings new renderings, as well as a construction timeline and design revisions in response to a substantial voluntary review process. The proposal will begin the formal public review through ULURP, i.e. the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure, in early to mid-March. Architecture Research Office will be responsible for the design of the school, to be included in the base.
