The core of 175 Greenwich continues to rise, and the building has quite a presence at street level already. Although past statements had indicated construction would halt after the base of the structure was completed, there is now talk that the building may be finished without interruption. Construction certainly hasn’t been rapid, but the latest development on-site is the installation of the building’s first steel, visible behind the fence in the photo below (and to the right of the building in the next photo). Hopefully 175 Greenwich is completed sooner rather than later, as leaving Lower Manhattan a perpetual construction zone is the last thing New York needs.
