The Avalon West Chelsea has been rising very quickly in recent weeks. The project will feature a thirty-story tower facing Eleventh Avenue–hence the official address of 298 Eleventh Avenue–but the bulk of the structure will be only thirteen stories in height.
Since the last update a little over a month ago, the Avalon has risen six stories, which is quite impressive when you consider how large the project is.
The lots next door have been cleared for development, though ground has not been broken yet. The High Line is buzzing with construction activity, a clear sign that the city’s residential market is finally emerging from its recession-induced coma.
