Construction Update: 40 Riverside Boulevard

Extell’s 40 Riverside Boulevard is making major progress, and the project is now at its fifth floor – the tower will eventually stand 33 stories. The building will be relatively standard for new luxury construction, with a patterned glass facade mimicking its northern neighbors.

40 Riverside Boulevard was the site that stirred controversy with its ‘poor-door’ entrance, which – in reality – is common practice in New York, and a non-issue. It will form the southern end of Riverside Boulevard, with Portzamparc’s towers expected to rise in the adjacent southern lots.

Completion of 40 Riverside Boulevard is expected in 2015, and the development will have a total of 274 units; 219 will be condominiums, and 55 will be designated as affordable housing.
