An anonymous Roslyn Heights, N.Y.-based LLC has filed applications for a four-story, 13-unit residential building at 22-22 Steinway Street, in the Ditmars section of Astoria. The project will measure 11,605 square feet and its residential units should average 740 square feet apiece, indicative of rental apartments. There will also be nine off-street parking spaces. Nickolas Kazalas’s Astoria-based firm NDKazalas Architecture is the architect of record.
The 50-foot-wide, 4,994-square-foot assemblage consists of a vacant lot, which was occupied by a two-story structure demolished in early 2015, in addition to a two-story house at 22-24 Steinway Street. Demolition permits have not been filed for the remaining structure. The latest plans replace previous ones, filed in 2014 by a different developer, for a four-story, six-unit residential building.
