A rendering has been revealed of the five-story, 289-key dual-branded hotel at 36-20 Steinway Street, located on the corner of Northern Boulevard in the Dutch Kills section of Long Island City. The project will feature a 102-key Homewood Suites and a 187-key Hampton Inn, DNAinfo reported. Both brands are owned by Hilton Hotels & Resorts.

The latest building permits, which have not been approved at this time, call for a 170,559-square-foot structure rising 60 feet. There will be 18,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and private hotel amenities across parts of the ground and cellar levels.

JMH Development and Mettle Property Group are the developers, while Gene Kaufman’s SoHo-based firm is the architect. Three single-story commercial buildings must first be demolished. Permits to do so were filed in October. Construction is expected to begin by the end of the year, with completion slated by the end of 2018.
