Permits have been filed by an anonymous LLC for a four-story residential building at 166 Newel Street, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The site is not far from the core of retail action in Greenpoint, along Manhattan Avenue. Eight blocks away is the Nassau Avenue Subway Station, serviced by the G trains.

The 52-foot tall structure will yield 5,000 square feet for residential use. The site creates four apartments, which will average 1,250 square feet apiece, indicating condominiums. The residences on the second, third, and fourth floor will include rear balconies. Storage and recreation space will be made available in the cellar, underground.

Studio DYO will be responsible for the architecture.

The location is currently occupied by a two-story structure. Demolition permits have not been filed, and an estimated completion date has not been announced.
