Permits have been filed for two four-story mixed-use building at 516 and 518 East 147th Street, in Mott Haven, The Bronx. The buildings are five blocks away from the 3rd Avenue 149th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Saint Mary’s Park is also half a block away, providing recreational space for various sports activities. Owner Avi Baranes will be responsible for the project.
The 40-foot tall structures will yield a combined 12,160 square feet, with 11,000 square feet dedicated to residential use, and 1,160 square feet for medical facilities on the ground floor.
14 apartments will be created, averaging 786 square feet apiece, indicating rentals. Two units will occupy the ground floor, doubling on each level above. Two units on the top floor will extend into a roof penthouse area.
Afshari PC will be responsible for the design.
Demolition permits have been filed for 516 East 147th Street in September 2017. The estimated completion date has not been announced.
