YIMBY has the latest on progress at the Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed 250 West 81st Street, on the Upper West Side, which has finally topped-out at 209 feet, right on schedule. The new building fits neatly in the neighborhood, with a myriad of classical sensibilities embellishing the façade as well as the interiors. Alongside the topping-out, a slew of new interior renderings have also been revealed.
The site is located right on Broadway, two blocks from the 79th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 1 train.
The 18-story structure will bring 31 new condominiums to the neighborhood, averaging 2,700 square feet apiece. Apartments range in size from two to five-bedrooms, with prices ranging from $3.8 to $15.7 million.
Move-ins are expected to start in January 2019. 14,797 square feet of commercial space will function out of the cellar, first and the second floor. Tenants will have several amenities available, including a basketball court, fitness center, recording studio, and rooftop terrace.
Alchemy Properties will be responsible for the development, and they are teaming with Stribling Marketing Associates to manage sales.
Completion is expected by 2019.

Please pardon me for using your space: I don’t have idea. (How about lamp above window?)
Robert A. M. Stern’s buildings are the epitome of classic design updated to todays sensibilities, IMHO.
