A new six-story residential building will soon take shape at 2001 Nostrand Avenue, in Flatbush, Brooklyn, according to recent permits filed with the DOB.
Located just a few blocks away from a diverse, retail corridor along Flatbush Avenue, the original structure once functioned as a church, but sold with the attached 8,000 square foot lot for $2.2 million in September 2017.
The new development will include just under 26,000 square feet of residential area divided among 35 rental units. A community facility will comprise an additional 2,500 square feet of the new building.
Filings also indicate sub-grade cellar area and an enclosed parking structure for one motor vehicle.
DJLU Architects are will oversee design of the new building, while ownership is credited to The Edge Developers’ Mark Weinberger.
