Permits have been filed for an eight-story hotel at 23-15 39th Avenue, in Long Island City, Queens. The site is seven blocks away from the Queensboro Plaza subway station, serviced by the 7, N, and W trains, a significant transfer station in Queens. Four blocks to the west of that station is the Queens Plaza subway station, serviced by E, M, and R trains. Surjeet Kaur of Sunny Builders NY Corp is responsible for the development.
The 85-foot tall structure will yield 44,750 square feet, with 37,120 square feet dedicated to commercial-hotel use. 95 guest rooms will be created, averaging 391 square feet per unit. Visitors will have access to a laundry room, bicycle storage space, lobby with waiting room, and a breakfast area.
M.S. Savani Architect is listed as responsible for the design.
The site is currently undeveloped, providing expediency for future construction as soon as permits are approved. Construction is expected to begin in September, and will be completed by the end of 2019.

Please pardon me for using your space: Repeatedly viewed on details, this is development. (Hello YIMBY)
I’m not sure why you said in the article that it’s seven blocks from Queensborough Plaza when it’s clearly on,y 3 blocks and a 5 minute walk. It’s also an 8 minute walk to the Queens Plaza station. I know all of this since i lived on 38th ave for a few years, am a Queens native, and walked those streets millions of times. Perhaps if your reporter actually visited a site instead of relying on google maps for information they’d know what they were reporting on.
