Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 722 East 212 Street in Williamsbridge, The Bronx. The site is a block away from the Gun Hill Road subway station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. B&B Urban is listed as the developer.
The 76-foot tall structure will yield 93,237 square feet, with 76,079 square feet dedicated to residential use. 87 apartments will be created, averaging 874 square feet apiece, likely indicating rentals. The interior lot includes a rear yard of 30 feet. This building is part of Williamsbridge Gardens, a new two-development project fronting on both East 211th and East 212th Streets with a total of 170 units for low income families across the 169,000 square foot scope.
The proposed affordable housing will offer a mix of 30 studios, 55 one-bedrooms, 57 two-bedrooms and 27 three-bedroom apartments. 51 units will be filled by formerly homeless families with on-site services provided by the Center for Urban Community Services non-profit. Community facilities include a courtyard, a community room with kitchenette, a computer lab and children’s library, exercise room, laundry rooms and a rooftop photovoltaic solar installation. Michael Gelfand of MHG Architects will be responsible for the design.
Demolition permits have not been filed nor has a completion date been announced.
