Permits have been filed for a three-story school at 75-02 21st Avenue in Ditmars Steinway, Queens. Located between 75th Street and 76th Street, the corner lot is a little over a mile east of the Ditmas Boulevard subway station, serviced by the N and W trains. New York City School Construction Authority is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 65-foot tall development will yield 76,865 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and rear yard 30 feet long.

Rolando Kenny of Kenny and Khan Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in August of 2018 for PS 2, currently on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  2. So they are demolishing the school pictured and building another school that is 65’ high?

    Why?

  3. P.S. 2 Queens is not being torn down. Temporary classrooms housed in trailers (behind the school, not pictured) will be removed and replaced with a three-story addition to the existing school
