The Stanwix, a new rental building at 115 Stanwix Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn, is approaching full occupancy. JCS Realty is the developer and ND Architecture & Design is the architect of record for the eight-story structure, which illustrates how efforts to revitalize and invigorate the working-class neighborhood have exceeded the city’s expectations in regard to housing improvement, diversification, and economic development.

The Stanwix is comprised of about 130 units ranging from one- to three-bedroom layouts. Input Creative Studio is responsible for the interior design. Each residence features floor-to-ceiling windows, red oak hardwood floors, integrated lighting, and stainless steel appliances. Select units offer large outdoor terraces.

Amenities include a rooftop lounge and garden, a children’s playroom, an event space, a communal kitchen, indoor lounge areas, a screening room, a library, a fitness center and yoga studio, co-working space with a private conference room, and a coffee bar.

When leasing launched for The Stanwix, approximately 30 percent of the units were marketed as affordable homes. This included two studios, 28 one-bedroom units, seven two-bedroom units, and four three-bedroom units. Rents began at about $1,430 and topped out at $3,225 a month.

In collaboration with Nooklyn, the development team has reported great success in filling available units. According to info from third-party sources, only three out of 130 units are currently vacant. Average price for these apartments is an estimated $3,294.

  1. I was at the Geriatric-Wellness Center at Woodhull hospital last week, and a woman in her late 80s/90s was telling how much better/safer the neighborhood had become.

  2. This landlord is very selective about how diverse it wants it’s tenants to be. The lottery for low income housing is a hack.
But yet the city lets them manipulate and do what they want. One hand washes the other and this handful of Hasidic developers have brought plenty of soap and hand towels. If you know what I mean!

    • @rob What’s wrong with being selective? If you need to give affordable it doesn’t mean that you are not allowed to choose to give for low income whom you feel comfortable with etc.

And apparently you don’t have any issue with being selective as well “for example bashing “Hasidic developers” when everyone with a little common sense dose so Hasidic or non
