The reinforced concrete superstructure of 555 West 22nd Street has quickly reached the tenth floor in Chelsea, and work shows no signs of slowing down. These large lower floor plates take up nearly the entire span of the property, while the next 16 floors will be smaller and form the main tower. Robert A. M. Stern Architects is the designer and Related Companies is the developer of the 26-story condominium project. SLCE Architects is serving as the architect of record. This will become the second Chelsea residential project for Robert A.M. Stern’s design firm and will contain a total of 39 units, averaging around 2,245 square feet apiece.
The site is located along Eleventh Avenue between West 22nd Street and West 23rd Street. The next few floors added to the superstructure will really show how large of a building this will eventually become.
The safety netting is starting to be assembled and installed along the perimeters of the newly poured floor plates, while the formwork for the next few floors is continually being created. Several protruding edges of the reinforced concrete floors slabs for the wide bay windows along the northern elevation can now visible on each side of the exterior elevator hoist. The bulk of the edifice will rise along Eleventh Avenue and be enclosed in a bright stone curtain wall with large windows.
Amenities for 555 West 22nd Street include a residential lounge, an event room, a game center, a business center, a fitness center, a basement pool with lockers, bicycle storage, and a dog spa. A number of apartment units will have private outdoor terraces with prime unobstructed views overlooking the Hudson River and the sunsets over New Jersey.
A final completion date for 555 West 22nd Street has not been announced, but the project could likely be finished sometime between the end of 2020 or early 2021.

There’s no way that building only has 39 units.
Sigh. Once again you guys are wrong. Robert Stern designed another apartment building in Chelsea almost 20 years ago, The Westminster at 180 W. 20th St. I know that you’re only a mouthpiece for developers, but if you have any pretensions to journalism please make a slight effort to get your facts right. 15 seconds of Google would give you answers.
Stevie, take a deep breath, give yourself a hug. It’s gonna be O. K.
Yeah..I agree with the previous posting..you guys don’t want to go down like Libery Headlines..that Stern building on 7th didn’t need to be googles by so called experts.
I’m sure the apts here will be fabulous..but the exterior is a bit too 1960’s Imperial House..( you know, the white brick giant on what? East 69th? )..I expected something a bit more elegant from Mr Stern.
