Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 1718 President Street in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Utica Avenue and Rochester Avenue, the lot is two blocks south of the Utica Avenue subway station, serviced by the 3 and 4 trains. Anshel Friedman under the 1720 Ventures LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 75-foot-tall development will yield 29,580 square feet, with 22,478 square feet designated for residential space and 4,768 square feet for a ground-floor community facility. The building will have 37 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 607 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and 11 enclosed parking spaces.

Tafadzwa Mwandiambira of Baobab Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in early 2018. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Why are you replacing 2 homes in a residential area with an 8 story building having an underground parking garage. It is so unnecessary, will make for more difficulty street parking. An ugly eyesore.
