Permits have been filed for a six-story commercial building at 2077 Coney Island Avenue in South Brooklyn’s Homecrest neighborhood. Located between Kings Highway and Avenue R, the interior lot is a few blocks from the Kings Highway subway station, serviced by the B and Q trains. Fouad Barakat is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 71-foot-tall development will yield 19,220 square feet, with 12,024 square feet designated for community facility space and 7,256 square feet for commercial space. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar, a basement, and will comply with sustainable roofing regulations.
Alix Michel of Citiscape Consulting LTD is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the multi-family residential building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
