There is too much luxury construction going on all over Bayonne. There should be more affordable buildings going up. A studio starting between $1500-1700 is a crazy price for a small
This is absolutely astounding that the Council is proposing another high rise , luxury, high rent building in a neighborhood made up of one & 2 level homes & businesses. Do they realize there is a recession with extremely high unemployment ? People are desperate for jobs.
NYCity has over a 10% rate of empty apartments as does San Francisco. We’re in the middle of a pandemic with scientists telling us it will get worse with the Flu season upon us. This administration has destroyed the culture of Bayonne. It’s not the same , safe place for families to raise their children. This is worse than a financial Depression; it is a time of anxiety, apprehension & fear of the future. This constant building of high rise , high rental buildings must stop right now. It’s not the right time for it nor the right place. Stop it before it’s too late.
