Construction is now complete on The Symon, a 13-story condominium building at 76 Schermerhorn Street in Brooklyn Heights. Designed by Colberg Architecture and developed by Lonicera Partners, Orange Management, and The Davis Companies, the property features 59 units with interiors by Studio DB, which also led the design of the façade. The project is located between Boerum Place and Court Street, along the border with Boerum Hill.
Since our last update last July, all exterior work has concluded and the sidewalk scaffolding has been removed.
One of the nicest architectural aspects of the envelope are the wide arched windows on the lower and upper floors. The dark panels lining the edges, corners, and setbacks add contrast with the brick masonry walls between the spacious grid of windows. A rectangular canopy protrudes over the sidewalk and main doors and is flanked by floor-to-ceiling glass for the 3,000 square feet of retail frontage.
The Symon yields 86,000 square feet, with 68,460 square feet allocated to the residences for an average of 1,163 square feet apiece. Units are available in one- to four-bedroom spreads. The remaining space is devoted to amenities, which include a 24-hour attended lobby, private lounge, landscaped rooftop terrace, gym, children’s playroom, storage, bicycle spaces for purchase, and a limited number of private indoor automatic parking spots available for purchase. The nearest subways are the 2, 3, 4, and 5 trains at the two Borough Hall stations to the north. The A, C, and F trains are also nearby at the Jay Street-MetroTech station.

This looks great! I especially like the arches and the setbacks.
Just because you keep saying this is in Brooklyn Heights doesn’t make it so. It is EAST of Court Street, hence in downtown Brooklyn. Nor is it adjacent to Boeurm Hill.
This turned out nice.
Mr. Porter’s comment is exactly correct. This location is in downtown Brooklyn, not Brooklyn Heights. It’s a convenient location, close to Brooklyn Heights, but without the Heights’ characteristic charm and quiet.
wow WHY CAN’T ALL DEVELOPERS BUILD LIKE THIS???
BECAUSE THEY’RE ALL SO GREEDY AND DON’T WANT TO PAY UNION WAGES AND WANT TO BUILD UGLY OUT OF CONTEXT GLASS BOXESON THE CHEAP
!!!!So what!!!!
Am I supposed to be impressed
Another Building for whom
Why don’t you builder’s
Build some real Affordable
Housing
That means you would actually put
the real people of BROOKLYN in
decent housing
But that is not your concern
You build what you build too maintain and keep the division on going
There’s no such thing as affordable apartments if your rent is $3,200 a month that’s not affordable
