The affordable housing lottery has launched for East Village Homes, a 14-story mixed-use building at 302 East 2nd Street in Manhattan’s East Village. Designed by Leroy Street Studio Architecture and developed by New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the structure yields 44 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 36 units for residents at 50 to 140 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $32,229 to $180,460.
Units include energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, and high-speed internet. Residents will have access to outdoor landscaped terrace, bicycle storage, shared laundry room, elevator, and an on-site superintendent. Tenants will be responsible for electricity.
At 50 percent of the AMI, there are seven units with a monthly rent ranging from $857 to $1,020 for incomes ranging from $32,229 to $64,450. At 80 percent of the AMI, there are 19 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,305 to $1,958 for incomes ranging from $47,246 to $103,120. At 140 percent of the AMI, there are 15 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,850 to $2,774 for incomes ranging from $65,932 to $180,460.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than December 20, 2021.
