The affordable housing lottery has launched for RadRoc, a two-building mixed-use development at 10-18 Beach 20th Street and 19-38 Cornaga Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. Designed by Magnusson Architecture & Planning and developed by Radson Development, the structures each rise ten stories and yield a combined 253 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 227 units for residents at 40 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $20,538 to $118,400.
Units include energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, and high-speed internet. Residents will have access to outdoor landscaped terraces, a community lounge, recreation room, bicycle storage, shared laundry room, elevators, and assigned parking. Numerous public parks are located near the development including Bayswater Park, Bayswater Point State Park, and Rockaway Community Park.
At 40 percent of the AMI, there are 50 units with a monthly rent ranging from $535 to $949 for incomes ranging from $20,538 to $59,200. At 50 percent of the AMI, there are 51 units with a monthly rent ranging from $696 to $1,227 for incomes ranging from $26,058 to $74,000. At 70 percent of the AMI, there are 75 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,016 to $1,782 for incomes ranging from $37,029 to $103,600. At 80 percent of the AMI, there are 51 units with a monthly rent ranging from $1,176 to $2,059 for incomes ranging from $42,515 to $118,400.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than December 8, 2021.
