Construction has broken ground for Archer Towers, one of the tallest residential structures in Jamaica, Queens. Designed by Studio V Architecture and developed by BRP Companies, the 24-story development is located at 163-05 Archer Avenue and will include a mix of apartments, retail space, and parking.
Archer Towers will comprise roughly 542,000 square feet and introduce 605 mixed-income residences. According to a statement from the developer in 2020, the residential component will be divided into 424 market-rate apartments and 181 income-restricted units. To date, specific income requirements have not been revealed.
Future residents will have access to 20,000 square feet of amenities including 199 attended parking spaces, a resident lounge, a movie screening and media room, a children’s playroom, multiple landscaped outdoor spaces, a basketball and pickleball court, a golf simulator, a yoga studio, a conference room, a pet spa, and bicycle storage.
The building will also house 14,000 square feet of retail space.
Energy-efficient building and design components will include vertical heat pump systems, a roof water retention system, low-emissivity materials in the façade to help reduce the amount of energy needed to maintain interior temperatures, and Energy Star appliances in each apartment.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management’s Urban Investment Group provided construction financing for Archer Towers, which is slated for completion in spring of 2024.
